Welcome to Hardy, Mr. Johnson! Matthew Johnson will be joining Hardy Elementary as Assistant Principal. Johnson has been with Isle of Wight County Schools since 2005 as a teacher at Westside Elementary. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Edinboro University and a Master of Education in Education Administration and Supervision from Regent University.
Hardy Elementary had two teams compete at the Great Computer Challenge on May 13, 2017.  Both teams competed in the Visual Programing/Block Coding section using Scratch Jr. The Level 1 team (1st and 2nd grade) scored Superior which is equivalent to first place in Level 1.  The Level 2 team (3rd grade) scored 1st Place and each student received a medal and a plaque for the school.

Mrs. Linda Henk of Hardy Elementary School!    Mrs. Henk is a Kindergarten teacher at Hardy. She uses her role as an educator to help children become respectful, responsible and kind as they develop a love of learning. She makes it a point to find good things about each child she works with and helps them feel that school is a safe, loving place to grow and learn. People never forget how you make them feel, and her goal is to make every student feel valued.    Congratulations on being selected the IWCS Teacher of the Year!
